A collaborative Halloween art show showcasing different artists - visual, culinary, sound - centering around all things spooky! Founders will be performing art songs by Brandon featuring the poetry of E A Poe.
Founders will kick off the 5BMF 2019/20 season with “Songs for the End of Time” at the Judson Memorial Church in the Village.
Complete reimagined Quartet for the End of Time
Drawing influences from Gregorian chant, Sacred Harp, Bulgarian folk music and their own songwriting, Founders has created a dutifully reverent yet daring homage to Olivier Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time. The program, titled “Songs for the End of Time,” also features original songs and compositions by Founders illustrating themes of love, the divine and the final apocalypse.

Founders will be joining several NYC musicians to perform an evening of Beatles arrangements to celebrate Brandon Ridenour’s CD release of “Come Together”. Brandon’s arrangements of over 15 Beatles songs - utilizing over 20 musicians and multiple ensembles - commemorates the 50th anniversary of the song Come Together, written by John Lennon in 1969.
Our weeklong residency culminates in a concert in the rolling hills of Massachusetts. MORE INFO
Founders performs American Excursions - works of Barber, Ellington, original compositions, and songs utilizing poetry of Edgar Allan Poe.
Founders performs the NYC premier of Sacred Space, a 7-song cycle of original works featuring the poetry of Edgar Allan Poe. Combining musical styles of plainchant, West Coast jazz, and neoclassicism, this cycle is a somber yet unorthodox exploration of spiritual life. The title, Sacred Space, alludes to the interweaving of religion, reverence, and death - some of the most central themes in Poe's writings.
Founders will also be integrating arrangements of Messiaen's Quartet For The End Of Time, Radiohead, and original songs to complement and illuminate the solemn themes of Sacred Space.
Uptown, but below ground there is a secret burial ground that few but the dead have seen. Join us for a night unlike any you have ever experienced, where we will descend into a crypt and make music among the dead.
